Lal Kitab: History & Origin

The History of the original Lal Kitab is quite unknown. There are 2 variations of the story. These two tales tend to credit the Lal Kitab book to two different names. Let us have a look at that.

The Tale of Pandit Giridhari Sharma

As the saying goes, during the 19th century, Pandit Girdhari Sharma was working for the British administration. He was a learned scholar and phenomenal astrologer. He was proficient in palmistry and Vedic astrology. During that time, as the British Government was digging the land in Lahore, they found some ancient scripts written in Urdu and Persian.

The British Govt. officials knew Girdhariji as a learned person. Thus, it was decided that they would take these scriptures to him. After analysing the scriptures for a long time, Pandit Girdhari ji concluded that they are from Lal Kitab.

The Tale of Pandit Roop Chand Joshi

In the other version of the story, it is believed that Pandit Roop Chand Joshi made a variation of the Lal Kitab and divided it into 5 parts. These are as follows:

• Lal Kitab Ke Farman (The Edicts of Lal Kitab)
• Lal Kitab Ke Arman (The “Aspirations” of Lal Kitab)

Sathi Grah (Companion Planet)

Dharmi Teva (Dharmi Chart)

Nabalig Teva (Nabalig Chart)

According to Lal Kitab astrology, when the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses of an individual’s kundli remain blank, they have Nabalig Teva. If these houses are filled with planets like Rahu, Ketu, or Saturn, the person has minor Teva.
